The Deep

Intro

Welcome to The Deep, one of the most spectacular aquariums in the world! A perfect Day Out in Yorkshire.

About The Deep

This award-winning attraction is home to 3,500 fish including magnificent sharks and rays. The dramatic building, located in East Yorkshire, overlooks the Humber estuary, was designed by world class architects, Sir Terry Farrell and Partners and opened in 2002 in, what was then, one of the most deprived and unfashionable cities in England.

As part of the regeneration of Hull, The Deep has become an internationally recognised landmark and has even featured on a Royal Mail stamp! The building exploits the landscape on which it is built and was inspired by natural geological land formations. Gleaming glass and aluminium thrust into the dramatic landscape on the confluence of the two rivers marking the historic entry to Kingston upon Hull with a brand new future.

The Deep operates as an education/conservation charity and in recent years has become an international player in marine conservation. It is also the most commercially successful Millennium Project.

What Our Visitors Say

We came yesterday for my nieces 8th Birthday and we couldn’t praise the Deep enough! Not only is it an amazing facility which clearly cares for the animals it looks after, but the staff that work there were brilliant. We required a wheelchair which they provided without hesitation and offered support throughout our visit. I would highly recommend the Deep we will definitely be coming back.

What was nice was that there were three accessible toilets each at a different level. One near the entrance, one by picnic area/cafe and one by the restaurant cafe on the top floor.

Into the Blue

Intro

Into the Blue offers a superb selection of activity and adventure days out perfect gifts for men, women, family, friends and groups of all sizes. It is a great way to find Days Out in the UK!

About Into the Blue

Into The Blue has been making memories since 1996 and certainly has reason to be proud of its roots. Jim Maitland (Founder) first came to Biggin Hill, London as a small boy with his father Jock Maitland. He opened Biggin Hill as a civilian Airfield in 1958, at the time there were many semi derelict relics from its wartime days and he would spend many happy hours amongst the old pill boxes and blast pens. Later Jim joined to help run the famous Biggin Hill Air Fair.

Jim realised that many of the spectators attending the shows would actually like to ‘have a go’ themselves and so working closely with established aviation contacts the idea for Into The Blue was born. The rest is history!

Intro

The Family Saver Card offers our members the opportunity to experience an exciting range of visitor attractions, restaurants and fun activities at discounted rates for an entire year. With attractions in Staffordshire, London and more, Family Saver Card is perfect for finding days out for all the family!

About Family Saver Card

The Family Saver Card is a membership card that gives discounts on all types of leisure and entertainment activities for families or any adult that takes children under the age of 16 years old.

Over the years, children generally over the age of 12 years are being treated as adults whenever they undertake entertainment activities and are expected to pay adult prices.
These have been causing a burden on family finances, and in return means that these age group over 12 years are rarely out with parents, carers or other adults. Not only does this decrease their chances of learning social integration but also causes family divide.
This age group then also have to make or find their own entertainments most of the time leading to boredom or stuck in their bedrooms on computer games.

The Family Saver Card aim to solve most of these problems with our innovative membership card service

Testimonies

Sarah Mum of 1 “I only use my card at the Family Saver Card Partners, as my Daughter eats for free. My savings work out to be around £5.00 each time”.

Dannika, “I haven’t got any children yet; I bought a card so that I could take my younger brother out for Treats”.

Sue, “I brought a card as a gift for a close friend, who I knew would benefit from the savings she’d make over the year”.

Carnglaze Caverns

Intro

Carnglaze Caverns is a much recommended all-weather family tourist attraction near the village of St Neot, on the southern edge of Bodmin Moor in Cornwall, halfway between Liskeard and Bodmin just off the A38.

About Carnglaze Caverns

One of Cornwall’s premier underground experiences and days out is a family run business, with much to enjoy

  • Open All Year for self-guided tours underground (may be guided in high seasons)
  • Three large chambers with stunning Underground Lake
  • Set in Quarry Wood consisting of 6.5 acres of ancient woodland with an exceptional walk
  • The Terrace Garden and Enchanted Dell start a children’s counting game
  • The Rum Store, an underground concert and event venue ~ from Classical to Rock!
  • Licensed for weddings and civil partnerships in four different locations
  • Carnglaze Caverns are privately owned by Graham and Caroline Richards. Caroline, whose background is in teaching, specialising in environmental studies, is also a keen amateur geologist. Graham still works in architecture, as well as supporting Caroline in the day to day management of Carnglaze.

When they came to view Carnglaze in March 2001, having seen an advert for the cottage in Country Life magazine (yes, it does pay to daydream at the dentists!), they found not just the three-bedroomed bungalow they were interested in but the complex that is Carnglaze. The decision was taken later that year not just to live at Carnglaze but to share the Caverns and grounds with others. They see themselves as “stewards” of this small part of Cornwall’s Industrial Heritage.

    Lancaster Castle

    Intro

Lancaster Castle has 1,000 years of heritage, history, justice, felony and incarceration!

    About Lancaster Castle

Lancaster Castle’s origins date back almost 1,000 years. This Grade 1 Listed Building occupies a city-centre hilltop location on the site of three successive Roman forts. It’s been described by English Heritage as “not only the North-West‘s most important historic and archaeological monument, but also of international importance”.

The iconic buildings are already used as a focal point for many of the city’s largest public events. This includes ‘Light Up Lancaster’, the Lancaster Half-Marathon and the Lancaster Music Festival. The city marked its support for VE Day by lighting a beacon on top of the Castle gatehouse. In 2015, a Classic Car Collection and Travelling Christmas Fair visited Lancaster for the first time.

Every effort is made to keep the Castle open to the public during building works and to maintain free of charge access. Some events must levy a nominal charge for entry in order to pay for the cost of hiring in actors, musicians and technicians.

Going forward, they hope to open more areas of the Castle up to members of the public, once they can be sure that the new areas are fit for purpose.

    People and Stories

Here is a list of some historical people but below is a small sample of some famous people who were connected to the Castle : http://www.lancastercastle.com/people-&-stories

    Treasure Trails

    Intro

Treasure Trails are the perfect way for all ages to explore different areas across the UK.

    About Treasure Trails

It never started out as a business idea! It started in 2005 in Cornwall when a Trail was written around the founder’s home town for a charity event.

The trails are an imaginative way to explore towns, cities & villages across the UK with a self-guided themed walk.

An easy to follow route will enable you to crack the clues whilst taking in some of the most fascinating sights along the way.

They have over 1,200 Trails across the UK, and it doesn’t matter if you’re local, or visiting somewhere new for the first time.

By solving the fiendish clues on the Trail, you’ll be discovering whodunit and finding the location of the buried treasure. Even completing the mission like a true secret agent!

They’re great for seeing a location from a new perspective, whatever age, whatever the weather!

    Testimonials

We currently have over 1,100 Customer reviews to read (If you have the time!) but we thought to place one of our favourites below…

“We love treasure trails. We often have a young adult with learning disabilities stay with us and she has very limited reading skills. These trails offer a great activity that she can be included in with along with everyone else. We read the clues then explain them in a way that she may understand such as “look for a something with this number on, or see if you can find something that looks like this”. It also gets us to really look at our local towns and villages and see things we would never normally have noticed. Great fun for all ages and abilities. I have recommended them to friends who have all loved them!”
